<div data-element-id="elm_IZ5NrbO5RwSJvCsqZnu0Pg" data-element-type="text" class="zpelement zpelem-text "><style></style><div class="zptext zptext-align-center zptext-align-mobile-center zptext-align-tablet-center " data-editor="true"><p style="text-align:justify;line-height:1.5;"><strong><span style="font-weight:400;font-size:18px;">OWnD attended the “Die Digital+ Konferenz” on 10 February 2026 in Berlin.</span></strong><span style="font-weight:400;font-size:18px;"> The event was organised by IHK Berlin, HTW Berlin (Hochschule für Technik und Wirtschaft Berlin) and Handwerkskammer Berlin, offering a programme on digital topics for decision-makers.&nbsp;<strong>Data sovereignty is not just for government. It matters for critical infrastructure too, including wind energy.&nbsp;</strong>A clear takeaway: sovereignty fails where the chain is weakest. Not at the “AI” headline level, but in the basics: infrastructure, data control, contracts, and security.</span></p><h2 style="text-align:justify;"><span style="font-size:20px;">1) Public procurement is starting to move</span></h2><div><h2 style="text-align:justify;"></h2><div><span style="font-size:18px;"><div style="line-height:1;"><div style="line-height:1;"><div><div><div><div style="line-height:1;"><div><h2 style="text-align:justify;"></h2><p style="text-align:justify;">A key message was the <strong>governmental will to treat Open Source as a serious option in public procurement</strong>. It was interesting to see this shift stated so clearly: Open Source is not framed as a special case, but as something that should be buyable in a structured and legally sound way. If this intent turns into standard templates and repeatable processes, it removes a major barrier to adoption.</p><h2 style="text-align:justify;"><span style="font-size:20px;">2) People trust new tools when they can try them safely</span></h2><p style="text-align:justify;">Readiness comes from doing, not from slide decks. The suggested approach was simple: create a protected space to test, keep participation voluntary, and encourage exchange between teams. That is how acceptance grows while mistakes stay manageable.</p><h2 style="text-align:justify;"><span style="font-size:20px;">3) The best examples focused on control, not hype</span></h2><p style="text-align:justify;">The most convincing examples did not focus on flashy demos. They focused on good practice: clear responsibilities, a review step for sensitive cases, and a record of what happened and why. In short: automate routine work, but keep humans responsible where impact is high.</p><h2 style="text-align:justify;"><span style="font-size:20px;">4) Cybersecurity is part of the foundation</span></h2><p style="text-align:justify;">For OWnD, this is not abstract. As a digital-driven company building in-house automation and using Open Source AI tools, security is a daily topic. The event reinforced lessons we will apply:</p><ul><li style="text-align:justify;">share less data, by design</li><li style="text-align:justify;">limit access rights and review them regularly</li><li style="text-align:justify;">keep clear records of changes and outputs</li><li style="text-align:justify;">keep Open Source components updated and well managed</li><li style="text-align:justify;">separate experimentation from client work and critical systems<br/><br/><br/></li></ul><p style="text-align:justify;">The EU AI gap was presented as real. The more useful question is where Europe can win. From an industry perspective, the strongest position is often <strong>industry-specific data and deep domain knowledge</strong>.</p><p style="text-align:justify;"><br/></p><p style="text-align:justify;">That is exactly where OWnD sees the future of wind analytics: specialised workflows built on high-quality data, with domain expertise embedded in the checks, assumptions, and review steps.</p><p style="text-align:justify;"><br/>For further details, you can refer to the below references and links.<br/><br/><br/></p><h3></h3><h3 style="text-align:left;"><span style="font-size:16px;">REFERENCES</span></h3><div><div style="line-height:1;"><p></p><div style="line-height:1;"><div><ol><li style="text-align:left;"><a href="https://www.hwk-berlin.de/termine/digital-konferenz-it-impulse-fuer-berliner-unternehmen-91%2C0%2Cevedetail.html?eve=604" title="DIGITAL+ Konferenz: IT-Impulse für Berliner Unternehmen (Handwerkskammer Berlin)" target="_blank" rel=""><span style="font-size:16px;">DIGITAL+ Konferenz: IT-Impulse für Berliner Unternehmen (Handwerkskammer Berlin)</span></a></li><li style="text-align:left;"><a href="https://www.htw-berlin.de/einrichtungen/zentrale-referate/kommunikation/pressemitteilungen/digital-konferenz-it-impulse-fuer-berliner-unternehmen/" title="DIGITAL+ Konferenz: IT-Impulse für Berliner Unternehmen (HTW Berlin)" target="_blank" rel=""><span style="font-size:16px;">DIGITAL+ Konferenz: IT-Impulse für Berliner Unternehmen (HTW Berlin)</span></a></li><li style="text-align:left;"><a href="https://sibb.de/eventbrite-event/digital-konferenz-it-impulse-fur-berliner-unternehmen/" title="DIGITAL+ Konferenz: IT-Impulse für Berliner Unternehmen (SIBB listing / programme overview)" rel=""><span style="font-size:16px;">DIGITAL+ Konferenz: IT-Impulse für Berliner Unternehmen (SIBB listing / programme overview)</span></a></li><li style="text-align:left;"><a href="https://www.berlin.de/moderne-verwaltung/aktuelles/" title="Open-Source-Strategie für das Land Berlin (announcement page)" target="_blank" rel=""><span style="font-size:16px;">Open-Source-Strategie für das Land Berlin (announcement page)</span></a></li><li style="text-align:left;"><a href="https://www.berlin.de/moderne-verwaltung/_assets/02_anlage-rs_open-source-strategie-fuer-das-land-berlin_20260114.pdf?ts=1768477958" title="Open Source Strategie für das Land Berlin 2026 (official PDF)" target="_blank" rel=""><span style="font-size:16px;">Open Source Strategie für das Land Berlin 2026 (official PDF)</span></a></li><li style="text-align:left;"><a href="https://osb-alliance.de/featured/fuer-eine-innovative-digital-souveraene-verwaltung-berlin-stellt-open-source-strategie-vor" title="OSBA summary: Berlin stellt Open Source Strategie vor" rel=""><span style="font-size:16px;">OSBA summary: Berlin stellt Op</span></a><a href="https://osb-alliance.de/featured/fuer-eine-innovative-digital-souveraene-verwaltung-berlin-stellt-open-source-strategie-vor" title="OSBA summary: Berlin stellt Open Source Strategie vor" target="_blank" rel=""><span style="font-size:16px;">en Source Strategie vor</span></a></li></ol></div><p><br/></p></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></span></div></div></div>
